IJYHL Mission Statement
The IJYHL aspires to be the best amateur hockey league in the New England area. We work hard to provide the highest quality experience for our league members.
The IJYHL hopes to instill several values to all of its member organizations and their athletes. The IJYHL promotes positive personal characteristics in our players such as camaraderie, respect, dedication, sportsmanship, leadership, tenacity, generosity, and integrity. We promote respect, trust, courtesy and good sportsmanship among all of our participants, including players, coaches, officials, volunteers, parents and fans. Our Children spend a lot of time at the hockey rink...it is VERY important to create a positive and productive learning experience on and off the ice for them.
The IJYHL prepares their players for a higher level of competition, based on our hard work ethics and our drive to succeed. The objectives of our league are to improve a player’s physical, mental, and social well-being and to develop their self-reliance and independence. Whether our players choose to advance to the high school, college or higher tiered Juniors, our main goal is to develop players and progress them to the next level.
Never lose sight of the following:
- Always have fun playing the game of hockey
- Learn "life lessons" that have value well beyond the ice surface.
- Learn the skills, tactics and strategies of the game and improve as a player and as a person.
- Have an appreciation for the benefits of hard work, motivation, and perseverance in both winning and losing situations.
- Always feel like an important part of the team regardless of performance.
- Posses a sense of group loyalty and the ability to work as a team
- Have a feeling of pride in accomplishment through fair and honest means, continuous learning, and a sense of good sportsmanship and a high level of personal integrity and ethical conduct.
